Hi Kelly ...That's adorable!!Your artwork is wonderful and Chiggy makes a great subject to bounce holidays off from.lol I just got in from a walk, and while I was out I saw a Chickadee drinking sap tripping from a Maple tree branch...it was so cute. It is a gorgeous day temps 60 degrees and we are melting fast..yeah!!!!
That was a good St. Patrick's Day card for all of us. :)
Unfortunately, over here near a certain university campus, all we had was a drunk student (from a neighbor's party) on our front porch trying to get in between taking naps on the concrete while waited for the police to arrive. Ah, yes, that green beer and university students....
...thanks everyone! I love how his expression turned out also...almost impish--like a good little St. Patrick's Day chickadee should be! I've been away for a week...to Florida. I saw so many beautiful birds...can't wait to start posting photos and painting them!
I hand hold the camera for all my photos (I used to use a monopod or tripod for distance and macro, but the VR lenses don't seem to require it). I crop the images down in Aperture (I'm a Mac).
The Story Behind "Red and the Peanut"
Red and the Peanut is named after my first bird memory. When I was about six, I was at my Great Aunt Mary's house and she was telling me about Red and the peanut. "Red" was a Northern Cardinal that had trained Aunt Mary to feed it peanuts on demand. Since Aunt Mary's "Red" started it all, what better name could I choose?

Chiggie as a St. Patrick's Day icon? I love it!
But the Osprey has first dibs; it's the tradition that they arrive at their summer homes in the north on St. Patrick's Day.
Kah Wai...thank you!
Mona...they are so sweet. It was warm today so I had my window open, and it was wonderful to here their cheerful calls drifting in through the window.

Hi Kelly, Little Chiggy is adorable showing off his shamrock....
Have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day... I have some Irish blood in me --and need to put on my green so that George won't pinch me... ha ha
