Immature Red-shouldered Hawk for lunch...

Tuesday I came home from work for lunch and found this imposing face staring back at me through the living room window. It doesn't matter how many times you've see a hawk perched in a tree just outside your window, it still catches your breath. It's even better when he cooperates by sitting tight until you grab the camera...

An immature Red-shouldered Hawk looks for lunch...while I eat mine.

...shooting through my living room window didn't disturb this guy. He continued to eye the ground below, looking for something to eat.

...it's never good to be on the receiving side of that glare.
(This fellow went away empty-taloned, though. Nothing stuck around for his lunch party.)

...it feels good to blog again. Injury, illness and workload have kept me from the birds and other creatures of the woods for too long. I'm tired of that! Bring on the birds!
