Red-shouldered Hawk in snow...
It was a unpleasant surprise to look out to snow this morning. Our resident Red-shouldered Hawk seems to agree with the assessment...

Beautiful fellow! We have a family of them in our neighborhood. We had to be careful when we brought home our last puppy because the hawks circled when we had her outside. The hawks stay nearby to be close to their food source at our neighbor's home. The neighbor feeds pigeons so the food source for the hawks is endless. ;) It is not usual to see pigeons in our neighborhood so I'm sure our neighborhood is feeding them something they really like.
Retirement next year will be fun just sitting in the back yard and watching Mother Nature's creatures. ;)
We're used to snows this time of year up here, but yes--it still gets "old".
I'm sure yours is just a temporary delay.

Hi Kelly! He's a beautiful little guy! ...thankfully no snow here in south Sweden, but it's not really spring yet either. We are kinda in the middle. But it's going to get warmer any day now and then nature will awake. Greetings from Sweden! :)

Hi Kelly! Great shots of the Hawk. We had snow here recently too. It's 45 today, but the wind's blowing, which makes it feel much colder.

Lovely shots, Kelly! Our snow is melting fast, but we are still getting a few snowy days. No flowers or green leaves yet, but hundreds of geese and swans have made their way north, so spring is on its way.
I think I'd agree with Big Red on the annoyance of snow in April! Time for winter to move on and let spring come out to play. Hope this is the last of it!
