I don’t think I would be very good at climbing a real corporate ladder, but I think I could handle moving up by doing it goldfinch-style! In this series, our little goldfinch spies a nice thistle head several "rungs" above him. No problem. Watch what he does….
Let me just grab this stem and pull it down a bit….
...now I can grab it a little lower…
…that's good! Now I can just step right on that
stem for easy access to the thistle...voila!
It's good to be a goldfinch!
a goldfinch style ladder, very cute and i also would like to experience their type of ladder!

Oh tooo cute....They have been after my coneflower in the same manner...
ReplyDeleteToo funny! Kind of makes you wonder about the phrase "bird brain" doesn't it? Sometimes birds are quite clever.
ReplyDeleteBirds can think things out much better than we give them credit for. Lovely captures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever finch! And how lucky you were to see that.
ReplyDeleteHey Kelly, he could show a "Greedy Banker" a thing or two. (perhaps)
ReplyDeleteDoes he look proud of himself?! And he should! Excellent shots, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteWe have a gabble of goldfinches in our yard, and they provide endless entertainment here too. Great writing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I love your little captions!!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling animals / birds are so much wiser than we ever dream they are. Probably why they can survive without all the comforts that we call "home."
ReplyDeleteHow neat to watch them "problem solve."
Heh, heh! Where there's a will there's a way. Or where there's seed a Goldfinch will get there! Great set of shots, Kelly.
ReplyDeleteExcellent, these birds are full of resources!! See how they can adapt themselves to any situations! This whole series of juveniles godlfinch is a real pleasure to follow, well done Kelly.

ReplyDeleteA 'bright' bird in more ways than one ;)
Hi Kelly. Again a lovely set of photo's, although I have to say I think the our Goldfinch is prettier than yours, now I can't say that about many of your birds.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I adore goldfinches.
ReplyDeletePretty---Smart---Full Tummy------life must be good for a Goldfinch....
