Painting #85, A Happy Wild Turkey on Thanksgiving Day...
Oil pastel
12x16 Arches Cold Pressed 140 Lb Paper
My scanner can only handle a 9x12 sheet of paper. I guess I either have to upgrade the scanner or start photographing these larger paintings. (I only have 15 paintings to go for the challenge!) Wild Turkeys are really funky birds to draw--crazy feathers...crazy colors...crazy patterns...a crazy form...and a floppy, speckled wing. It was fun...
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!!
Another great painting Kelly.

ReplyDeleteVery nice. We have two of his relatives here today preparing to meet the family. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Kelly. Neat picture of a native bird, not one of those poor monstrosities bred for the dinner table. I love the effect of oil crayons: solid and dense, very tactile.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Kelly. I hope you and your family have a wonderful day and celebration.
ReplyDeleteNice work, Kelly! Have a great Thanksgiving.

ReplyDeleteI just wanted you to know that my scanner is not a large one either and I can my larger pieces in parts and put them together in photoshop.
Just give yourself enough to overlap to line up.

Hi Kelly...He is a beauty, nice job!!
ReplyDeleteRight back at ya on the "Thanksgiving Wishes"
Just got done popping my bird in the oven. I'm going to walk across the street and see if the Turkey is still alive on the farm next door. I'm sure he is as he is more of a pet, I think. He gets all huffy and fluff out his feathers if you approach his pen to closely. I'm bringing my camera over in hopes of a good photo. I LOVE your bird here, very grand. And congrats on only a few paintings left to go. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteLove the gobbler Kelly.
