Hi Kelly, Funny, but the real question is: Is he gonna think twice before getting the seeds from there ;-) I guess he did not! Beautiful picture, I love the attitude and the composition is wonderful! Yesterday I saw a northern wheathear fyling around our garden all day, so I decided that I will start to build a kind of seeds area for this winter ;-)
Great image! Also enjoyed the post of the juvenile with the male. It's not so easy to capture these, to see them before they see you and fly. But I'm working on it! I do love seeing the birds going about their daily activities!
Cute, Kel... I'm sure that little guy found a way to get to that seed, don't you think????? They are persistent--just like I am when I'm trying to get to something to eat that I want.... ha ha
...well....he seemed to be thinking about it, but after a little bit, he skipped it and went for the thistles that were all around! More to his liking...
Isn't there a saying about the sweetest fruit is always a the end of the branch? Maybe it's the same with seeds - the ones the meanest pods are the best!

Great shot! Knowing the ingenuity of Goldfinches, I'm sure he got the seeds with not a scratch.

Good catch Kelly! Did he dive in?
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, another nice photograph.
At least he was wise enough to "think" about it.

ReplyDeleteSensible bird Kelly and such a colourful one.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I laughed when I saw this too. And what a wise bird to pass up on those almost irresitable seeds....
ReplyDeleteGreat capture Kelly.

ReplyDeleteLovely shot Kelly!! Love the way you captured the bird looking and thinking first. Nice to catch nature doing that isn't it :)
ReplyDeleteFunny! Good shot....they don't seem to be very afraid to dive into the thistle patch. I guess when you are that little and light, it is easier :-)
ReplyDeleteI've never see a gold finch in such a clear and relevant setting. Absolutely great shot.
