Last Tuesday I spent the day at
Spring Valley Wildlife Area. It was beautiful and warm, and newly arrived spring migrants were singing in the bright sunshine. We were looking for Spotted Turtles, hoping one would pop its head out of the water and swim around, but unfortunately, none obliged. This sunny yellow Yellow-throated Vireo, however, put on a nice show...

Yellow-spectacled Vireo would have been a good name for this guy too... |
Beautiful bird.. Congrats and regards.
ReplyDeleteA lovely bird Kelly. Great captures.
ReplyDeletewhat a beauty!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly
ReplyDeleteLovely photos as always, you have skillfully managed to avoid the photographers twiggy nemesis and kept you shots nicely focused.
Regards
Guy
Ditto Guy's point, plus the fact that so many of the little guys are so fidgety. If you're using a big, big lens, you apparently are very, very patient.
ReplyDeleteTo a sort of novice like me, the sheer numbers of vireos and warblers are just overwhelming. I try to master a new couple every year.
So beautiful...I love the way the yellows, blues and greens all blend together....The bird is extra nice too!
ReplyDeleteHe's beautiful! Wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning bird Kelly, so colourful.
ReplyDeleteWonderful capture of this gorgeous bird Kelly... These shots are wonderful and beautifully composed... Hope to see this guy this summer!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly. Great views of this colourful Vireo. Your migrants appear to be far more co-operative than ours .. most of them over here are in continuous hiding!
ReplyDeleteYou've done it again! Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteWow- awesome pics!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of a beautiful bird. I don't think I have ever seen one.
ReplyDelete...isn't he gorgeous? His song gave him away. I love hearing the new songs when I go in the woods. Unfortunately, I've been down and out for the past week, having suffered an asthma relapse. Hopefully I'll be back out in the woods in a week or so.
ReplyDeleteKelly, what a beauty!
