A Carolina Wren makes everybody smile!
I recently restocked my mealworm feeder (a tiny birdhouse), and within three days this Carolina Wren found the stash. Two days later, he brought a little friend with him. Now I have two Carolinas singing out to the world their hearty praises of mealworms. I love to hear that song (loud and demanding) in the dead of winter!
We have these wrens too. I love them. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteOh lucky you! He's sure a cute little guy. Once in a great while I'll see a House Wren, but only in the summer.
ReplyDeleteadorable!
ReplyDeleteDarling little birds! So far all I'm feeding this fall/winter is squirrels... Maybe I should try mealworms instead of birdseed!
ReplyDeleteI love carolina wrens
ReplyDeleteHow pretty. Love the colors of this lovely little bird.
ReplyDeleteOne of my two most favorite birds—and, I'm happy to say, constant residents here on the riverbank. Their bright, fortissimo singing fills the grayest winter day with cheer.
ReplyDeleteis a beauty...
ReplyDeleteHi Kelley...they certainly do...and so didn't your Christmas Chickadee so nice : }

Sweet little birds Kelly.
ReplyDeleteHave had perky little Carolina Wrens here for 20 years, making nests near the house and skittering on the deck...I know it can't be the same pair, but they sure have the same routine and habit of resting in the hollow end of rolled up porch blinds.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm... Okay, I'm contemplating a feeder set-up in my back yard in direct view of my kitchen window, and I've already chosen a a seed feeder and a suet feeder. Now I need to see if any of the suet we sell has mealy worms; if not, I'm gonna need to add a third feeder to the pole. Thank goodness for Christmas gift cards!
ReplyDeleteSo much like our little Wrens here Kelly. Big voices too.
ReplyDeleteOh I love theses little guys!
ReplyDeletethis bird looks like a sweetie ...just a little handful of cuteness

ReplyDeleteMercy, that is one beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteThey do have a sweet song and for mealworms, you are getting extra.
Hope your Christmas was blessed.
We have wrens in our hdege I must try to see the similarities and differences between these two. They are so beautiful and this is a lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteI just adore wrens.. they are such cute little balls of fluff. We have a little 'rock wren' here in the southwest I love to watch hop along the desert floor.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot and such a sweet little bird! You've obviously found their favorite food.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture.
ReplyDeleteA bird that always warms my heart. Curious and so quick to scold... I love them.
