This muddy little alcove offered fantastic views of the Ibises, and I was amazed at their beauty. I’m sure if you live in this area, these guys are a dime a dozen, but for a Midwestern Yankee, they were exotic and new! I was shocked at how blue their eyes were. The shutter on my camera was definitely getting a work out…

Very cool pictures, I was still reading some of the back posts when you posted these.
ReplyDeleteYou could write a bird guide book with all your posts and pictures.
You have totally inspired me.
Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous Kel... I wonder how they stay so white living out there in the 'muck'..... They are truly beautiful birds. I can 'feel' your excitement.
ReplyDeleteDo you know what birds are doing when they sprawl out on the deck on a hot summer day??? Looks like they enjoy warming their tummies.. I've seen several birds do it.. Do you know what I'm talking about???? I will email you a picture.
Have a great day tomorrow.
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteBetsy...I just replied to your email you before I saw this comment.
THey may be a dime a dozen, but they are beautiful birds and it's always a joy when they come around to visit. I especially love seeing the juveniles when they are maturing.

ReplyDeleteKelly, I just got caught up on your last three posts. Such beautiful photography, and your sketch--totally amazes me that you could do that in such a short time. I couldn't do it at all. I was at Hilton Head a few years ago but never had any idea there was such a wonderous place to go close by. Thanks for sharing.
