It’s always fun to catch yard birds you normally find at the feeder out in the wild. I don’t know why, but when they're in the scruff at the edge of a forest, they seem just a touch more exotic.
Love your goldfinch pictures! I said I was going to stop feeding the birds but had to keep the thistle going as the goldfinches are too gorgeous not to see. One of my favorite yard birds.

Fabulous colouring Kelly on that Goldfinch. Its enough to brighten up any woodland. Our Goldfinch is multi coloured, but not as bright and striking as that.
They are such pretty birds. Great shots of them too Kelly! I wish mine would come around. I'm hoping they come to the thistle feeder I hung on my window. But I haven't seen any since that one day when a pair was going from bush to bush here on a rainy day.
Beautiful photos of the Goldfinch. As soon as our Lilac blooms the Goldfinch return to our garden and seeing the bright yellow among the lavender is amazing. Especially in our garden where the majority of birds are sparrows :-) Thank you for your nice comment & sharing your wonderful 4-leaf clover memories !
...thanks, Chad. Yes, I know what you mean. That's why I try to slow down and really observe their behavior. They are exquisitely beautiful when you really look at them.

ReplyDeleteThere is a totally different skill set to getting the birds in the bush. The males are so cool, showing off their beading colors.
