Carolina Wren blinking snowflakes out of his eye...

...this little Carolina Wren stopped eating the suet for a while and started watching the snowflakes falling. I don't think he was keen on them, though, because he kept blinking them out of his eyes--such a cute fella! (...from the snow last weekend)

    Thanks for pointing out the bar pattern on the wings. Is that as unusual as I think it is? I can't picture another bird with anything like it--reminds me of hawks for some reason.

    just always love looking at your photos of the birds. Birds amaze me too. A friend recently asked me how to attract cardinals to his yard . He has tried the black sunflower seed and suet and he still never gets any around. He is wanting to know some secret trick but I do not know of one. we just have a lot of them around my yard. He lives in Wisconsin (southern) any tricks up your sleeve to attract cardinals

    Kit...in my yard, cardinals come to all of my platform feeders. They don't bother with tube feeders, so see if he has hopper feeders or platform feeders. Black oil seeds and peanuts are favorites in my yard.
