I came home for lunch today and found this male Cooper's Hawk (
Accipiter cooperii) perched outside my kitchen window. I photographed him through glass and a screen...and it was dark and snowy, so the photos aren't the best, but you can still see the beauty in him. It's always a shock to look out the window and see this fierce fellow looking back...

I love looking at these beautiful hawks,I just don't like when they are after my birds.Nature is tough!

...thanks, everyone! Our Cooper's Hawk has been back a few times since I took these photos, but he hasn't shown up outside the kitchen window.
