Happy Thanksgiving!

A watercolor painting of a Tufted Titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor)
Painting 197. A Tufted Titmouse Outside my Kitchen Window on the Eve of Thanksgiving
(watercolor)

...and a poem for autumn:

The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.

  4. Perfect capture with the brush right down to the detail in the wings and feet. I think you will make your challenge well before Christmas.

  10. What a great picture! I can remember back several years ago when I wanted to see a Tufted Titmouse so bad but never could get one to come our feedeers! Finally, a dear friend allowed me to watch her feeders and I was so excited to see my first Tufted Titmouse! Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for allowing me to recall such a great memory!
